The pre amplifying part is fed with a sub source of more or less 33 volts, and when doing an analysis of the fault we found that the feed has a ripple, which led us to discover that the capacitors that integrate the power of the pre amplifier are the cause of the problem. The reason they keep failing is because the capacitors are operating too close to their capacity. Why am i not getting any customer service ?
Sadly they have stopped emailing me and their only solution is that i can buy another one them for £200 hmm (déjà vu)ĭo you think this right and fair ? Were they ever fit for purpose when they fail with the same fault. Ive told them i have had enough and I'm not spending any more money on amps just to run my home cinema, The problem i have is that this has been happening every 14 months or so one of the amps will fail, and now i have "4" faulty ones costing £200 each and the 5th is failing as we speak. I used these speakers for around 2 years and they sounded fantastic, but after a while one of the amps started to let feedback/DC back into the sub, so a loud hum was omitted all the time, i contacted def tech and they sent me a replacement, which normally cost around £200, it's well documented that these amps have a problem and I've seen on many forums the same fault, I need your help and advice please, i purchased a pair of definitive technology BP 7002 about 9 years ago, they cost around £2000, they have an active amplifiers to power the built in sub woofer and this is where my problem are.
